what are your thoughts on venus square ascendant ? i feel it might be a bad placement ? i know nothing lmaooo 👌🏻

lunarcappy answered:

Doubting or not accepting your attractiveness, ironically could be seen by others as a striking type of attractive, having a hard time valuing yourself your body your image, having a hard time incorporating a sense of harmony, fairness, and optimism to your outlook on life, hard to see the beauty in yourself and in life, too much value placed on finding love/beauty/value in the outer world (if venus is in the upper half of chart), or in the inner world (if it’s in the bottom half) and not so much finding it in the self, the identity.

Astrological Sex Appeal

mercurysharmoniums

Some people are just naturally magnetic. They attract attention, some more external and obvious and some more internal and mysterious. Both rile different types of sex appeal. There are aspects of a chart that can distinguish this pull. Keep in mind these are varied types of sexual attractiveness and not everyone is attracted to the same things, but all the following WILL evoke reactions from others. It is in no order :)

Scorpio Sun; deep, mysterious, confident, sexual, passionate

Scorpio Moon; same as above

Scorpio Venus; very passionate and can’t quite put a finger on exactly what it is; mysterious

Scorpio Mars; high sex drive and sex appeal, dark and mischievous

Sun conjunct Mars; open sexual energy, strongly attractive and intense

Venus in the 1st house; beautiful, special, and openly loving

Venus in the 8th house; dark, experimental, daring, sexual, intense feelings

Mars in the 8th house; high sex drive, dark, mysterious, never quite figure out

Leo Mars; attention gaining, strong presence, confident, outgoing, independent

Aries Mars; fast-moving and attractive, lively, flirty

Aries Venus; same as above

Leo sun in the 1st; confident and self-made, firey personality and strong presence

Leo sun in the 8th; mysteriously strong presence, secretive and strong, passionate

Venus in Taurus; strong security vibe, beautiful, and earthly sensuality

Neptune conjunct moon; idealist, mysterious, impossible to grasp, attractive and dreamy

things to check if you don’t relate to a placement

scorpioenergies

over the almost 3 years that i’ve had this blog, the question i’ve gotten the most is “why don’t i relate to ____ in my chart?” well, if you don’t relate to a placement, i recommend doing the following!

  • read different interpretations. google the placement, and read different opinions and posts on it. go deeper, go in depth, delve deeper than the surface or broad descriptions. different astrologers interpret placements differently, bringing new or different opinions and information. you may find that you relate to a different interpretation, and find new information that makes you relate to it more or makes it more personal. go deeper than the surface of a placement, there is more to each house and placement than you think!
  • check the degrees. if it is in the earlier degree (0) you may feel those traits strongly or feel the rawest energy from that sign. it could be in a critical degree, which you can read about here (post made by @yourandmyworldthings)
  • along with degrees, check the decan of the placement. a decan is based on degrees, and there are 3 decans split by degrees. 0-10 degrees is first decan, 11-20 degrees is second decan, 21-30 degrees is third decan. the different decans have influences from a sign and planet. for example, a scorpio rising in 2nd decan is ruled by pisces/neptune, and will have influence from that. that can make quite a difference!
  • check the house it’s in. the house a placement is in is where and how we express the energies of the planet/sign. it shows what areas we express those energies in or how we generally express those traits
  • check the aspects to the placement. aspects are the relationships between the planets. there will be influence from the relationships between those planets, it can influence the energy of the placement and bring new traits from the energies the planets have between each other. aspects with tighter orbs (lower degrees, usually lower than 5) are more relatable and influential for you.
  • you may have just not have seen or met that part of yourself yet. you may have not recognized that behavior in yourself yet, or haven’t seen it action. or maybe its subconscious and you haven’t noticed that about yourself before. especially if it has neptune/pisces/12th house influence! but look deep inside yourself, or pay more attention to your behavior and see if you notice anything new.
  • check your other placements. there could be influence from them as well! for example, if you have a mutable sun but a fixed moon, you may be more stubborn with emotions but have a more easygoing personality. there could be combinations from different parts of your chart, as they all go and flow together. make those connections and see how they flow together!
  • don’t ignore the negative or “bad” traits. people say they don’t relate to a placement because they are only focusing on the negatives, or don’t want to admit to the negative side of it. we are human, we have flaws, mistakes, and problems. no one is perfect. but don’t ignore the bad, learn about it and learn from it. grow from it, use it to turn into good or to turn it into something useful. get to know that part of yourself so you can grow and learn. recognize it within yourself and then learn.

i’ll add more as i remember them, but this is what i’ve got so far!

Coping Mechanisms and Immediate Responses to Pain

astral-obscura

Chiron-Sun aspects: “smiling through the pain,” remaining positive, constantly trying to maintain inner vitality in the face of suffering, resorting to egocentric behaviors (narcissism, attention-seeking, defensiveness, etc), adopting an “out of sight, out of mind” mentality and purposefully distracting oneself, looking to playfulness & creativity & validation for comfort or healing, forcing happiness.

Chiron-Moon aspects: retreating to what is familiar, withdrawing, internalizing, leaning on family, searching for sympathy and support, resting, relying on or over-indulging in material & physical comforts/pleasures, periodically flushing the emotional & psychological systems, acquiescing to circumstance, wallowing in pain and feeling it fully until it “runs its course” or to receive pity.

Chiron-Mercury aspects: rationalizing, over-analyzing, taking the problem too logically or too clinically, taking the problem too seriously or not seriously enough, detaching emotionally from the source of pain and thus dehumanizing oneself, “turning off” emotions, invalidating one’s emotions, reflecting on & studying circumstance, distracting oneself, moving on too quickly.

Chiron-Venus aspects: romanticizing pain, downplaying the severity or depth of pain, beautifying circumstance, refusing to be introspective or reflective and choosing feeble superficial solutions instead, relying on others to the point of unhealthy dependence, searching for healing in art & love, ignoring problems to maintain an appearance, pretending to heal to avoid complications/disharmony.

Chiron-Mars aspects: instantly going into survival mode, feeling threatened and reacting with hostility, defending oneself harshly, allowing instincts to rule as a form of self-protection, releasing tension and pain through antagonism or constructive creativity, retreating or turning aggressive, funneling or stimulating interior energy through the physical body, turning off the mind, acting out.

Chiron-Jupiter aspects: philosophizing or preaching about pain, turning one’s own suffering & hardship into a lesson for others, trusting that there is something to gain or learn from pain, making noble efforts to grow, fleeing from the circumstance or source of pain, feeling trapped or limited by unhappiness, unwisely viewing all unhappiness as a lower/underdeveloped form of existence.

Chiron-Saturn aspects: seeing pain as punishment or duty, draining all one’s energy into solving the circumstance, feeling exhausted and burdened by suffering, “getting used to” hardship, trying to “toughen up,” choosing to bear pain all alone to avoid being a burden/nuisance or to “be strong,” telling oneself the pain is deserved or necessary, trying to self-improve through hardship.

Chiron-Uranus aspects: drawing inspiration from pain or inspiring others with it, rebelling & acting out, initiating big changes to shake up the circumstance and avoid stagnation, seeing one’s pain as a reflection of a broader concept, contextualizing one’s pain into all of humanity, using community to cope, allowing pain to change the way one lives / looks / behaves, detaching.

Chiron-Neptune aspects: romanticizing or sanctifying pain, getting lost in suffering, resigning to hardship & becoming a martyr to it, “suffering so that others don’t have to,” trying to escape pain completely, trying to bring others into one’s suffering to create a sense of unity, fabricating delusions to avoid the reality of the circumstance, hiding one’s pain in a realm that other’s can’t reach.

Chiron-Pluto aspects: delving deep into the “wound” and not being able to get back out, resorting to self-destructive behaviors, weaponizing one’s pain against others, obsessing over / fixating on suffering, adoring/”needing” and creating pain, becoming “addicted” to pain, indulging in darkness and bad medicine, concealing pain even from oneself, clinging to the death/rebirth cycle.
